viola-fave-pic.jpgWelcome to my online store!  I'm so glad you've stopped by.  Please make yourself and home, look around, be inspired by God's plan for you... and of course, check out my homemade bakery products.

When I was 14, I entered a Catholic convent in Victoria, TX -- The Sisters of the Incarnate Word and the Blessed Sacrament -- and since then, my life has been quite the adventure.  I could tell you story upon story about learning how to be a nun in my early days -- living on the top floor bedroom with a leaky roof during winters in Victoria, TX, with freezing cold water to wash my face in the mornings ... sometimes, I didn't know how I would survive!  But Jesus kept putting me in places where I was forced to trust Him more and more ... and He never disappointed.

After 28 years in religious life, I was wrestling with the Lord's call for the future.  I was fortunate to be given a sabbatical to think and pray about this.  I wasn't looking for a change in vocation (I surely wasn't leaving the convent in order to get married!), but rather there was this nagging that there was something more that the Lord would ask of me... I just didn't know what it was.  I found myself starting that sabbatical at Little Portion, and I found a new home for my heart.  Eventually, I was given permission to start this new life -- a call within a call, as my favorite saint, St Therese of Lisieux, called it.  One thing led to another -- and all I could do was  say 'yes' to Jesus each time He asked me to go on another adventure -- no matter how big or small, easy or difficult -- with Him.

This Bakery is another example of that!

Out of ashes -- literally -- we grew a small business that we now call Little Portion Bakery.  We've taken our products to local farmer's markets, concert tours, and even to national food conventions.  I had no idea that the Lord would grow my homemade baked goods into a small business that reaches thousands across the country... and He's not done with me yet!  What the future holds for LPB, I don't know, but I'm just glad that you are a part of the journey!
